Field trips can be an important part of your homeschooling experience. A field trip gives you a chance to explore history, science and industry in a way that a book never can.

  Beaver Brook Association is a non-profit conservation organization located in Hollis, NH. We have 2,000 acres of conservation land open to the public 7 days a week, and we schedule seasonal programs for families, programs for a parent and young child, field trips and summer youth programs throughout the year. Our programs focus on environmental education topics such as New England wildlife, getting ready for winter, birds, bees and butterflies, pond life, bats and owls, maple syruping, conifers, animal tracking, forest ecology, etc. We also run programs on Native Americans and orienteering. New this fall is a puppet theatre for children up to about 7 or 8 years old. The show is about what animals are doing to prepare for and survive the winter.   An outdoor classroom founded in 1966 to teach visitors about New Hampshire’s plants, birds, and other animals and the ecosystems which are their natural habitats. The Science Centers 200 acre property at the south end of Squam Lake is host to a variety of indoor and outdoor exhibits. They have developed over two dozen programs for school children. The variety of programming includes environmental puppet shows, live animal programs and lake ecology cruises on Squam Lake.
