Dear Members and Friends,

The House Education committeee begins work on HB 368 , the stealth "Vehicle" for homeschool regulation, this coming Tuesday.

As you know HB 368 was retained in committee on a party-line vote in the same session  HB 367  was killed.  The solidarity of the Democrats during these committee proceedings leaves little doubt that more restrictions will be added to this bill.  As the party of power plans more mischief and meddling with parents rights and freedom of choice in education we must have people there to watch them and hold them accountable.

Committee Work Session on HB 368 is scheduled to take place 4/21 at 11:00AM in LOB 207
(Legislative Office Building directly behind the State House on State Street)

It is not likely that they will seek public comment, but they must allow the public to attend.  It is also doubtful they plan to make any record of these meetings a matter of public record.   It would be ideal to get one good set of notes and a tape recording,   If you are able to come with a notepad, tape recorder, or video recorder please let me know as I will be unable to attend due to prior commitments.

Thanks!

IHS,
jim
