Celebrate Reading Day - Monday, March 7th
The New Hampshire House of Representatives and state Senate will host a "Celebrate Reading Day" on Monday, March 7th beginning At 10:00am. Students and legislators alike are invited to bring their favorite book to Concord for a pep rally for reading.
In announcing the event, House Speaker Bill O'Brien said, "We're delighted to be able to invite students to the State House to celebrate literacy. But we’ll be doing much more than just reading -- we’ll be honoring all of the great teachers and parents who take time to read to their children every day.”
Senate President Peter Bragdon also voiced his support saying, “As a former school teacher, I know just how critical reading is to a child’s development and academic success. So the more fun we can make reading, the better. Our senators are definitely looking forward to this event.”
All interested should RSVP to Virginia Drew by email to Virginia.Drew@leg.state.nh.us or by calling the Visitors’ Center at (603) 271-2154.
Thanks and we hope to see you on March 7!
