The Home Education Advisory Council will meet in room 12 at the DOE, 101 Pleasant Street, on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 3 to 4 p.m., to discuss the implications for home education rules as a result of a substantive dialog between HEAC members and the new DOE Commissioner, Virginia Barry.

This will be a good opportunity for the public to attend as the deadline for rulemaking approaches.

Background:  Members of the HEAC have, over the course of nine months, fashioned rules around the recently amended home school law RSA 193:A.  In a meeting this week with the Commissioner, she agreed to address most of the concerns expressed by members of HEAC concerning new changes to the rules recently made by the Department of Education.  The special meeting tomorrow of the HEAC will review how those concerns were addressed by the Commissioner.
