On September 17th & 18th, CheNH had its first Fall Convention in Rumney, NH. The attendance might not have been impressive but the fellowship and teaching was great.
Friday evening started off with a shared dinner for those who could attend - home-cooked chili, fresh salad, and spicy rolls for those who dared. After the meal we help our Annual Meeting. For those who weren't there; Scott Marston, Mike Koski and Eric Schrowang are our new members on the Board of Governors. The leadership of the organization also changed with Dan Kimble becoming the new president and David Menard taking over as treasurer. The evening wrapped up with a sing-a-long around the campfire before people headed off to the sleeping quarters.
Saturday started off with a breakfast buffet - a little early for some and free time to check out the Used Curriculum Sale before heading over to the Tabernacle for the first session with Paul Veit. For those who have never heard Paul, you missed out on a great speaker. Lunch was served outside - hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and dessert. Some families used the lunch break to paddle around the small pond in the canoes and kayaks. Paul spoke twice more in the afternoon discussing evolution, dinosaurs and the Bible. A lot of people hung around after the last session enjoying the time fellowshiping with one another.
I believe the final attendance number I heard was 135 and the people I talked with really enjoyed the time together. We are already making plans and gathering ideas for doing this again next fall and we hope you will join us.
