How does CheNH membership benefit me?
As a member, you are entitled to the following:
As a ministry to homeschoolers, CheNH will typically help anyone who needs help, member or not. For example: we obviously could not be much help to new homeschoolers if we restricted our services to members. Of course, you are more likely to get newsletters and other stuff if you are on our mailing list as a member, but we try to make these available to non-members as we are able. And, our legislative work is for the entire home education community, not just members. So, the truth is, you will receive a few benefits from CheNH activities whether you join or not. However, if you think what we do is important and you agree with our Statement of Faith, we would love to have you join us.
How does CheNH membership benefit CheNH?
As a member, you will help us fulfill our Charter.
CheNH appoints two members to the Home Education Advisory Council (HEAC). People of faith need proper representation before our NH State Education officials. As long as there is CheNH there will always be at least two Christians on the HEAC.
The more people we have on our membership role, the more clout we have when working with lawmakers to keep homeschooling legal here in NH.
Most of our services and resources cost money. Your voluntary membership dues pay for newsletters, legislative alerts, information packs, mailings, website services, etc.
CheNH has no paid staff. We are all volunteers and always welcome new people with fresh ideas and willing hands. Printing, mailing, running a convention, managing a database, reviewing legislation, attending hearings in Concord, helping new homeschoolers get started - all takes work. The more help we have, the more everyone benefits.
So would you consider joining CheNH today? You can apply by filling out the membership form and sending it in with your payment.
